Critical care unit in SSMH is a multidisciplinary unit comprising of medical intensive unit,surgical intensive unit ,neonatal intensive unit,pediatric intensive unit.

SSMH constitutes a devoted and active team of anaesthesiologist ,internal medicine,surgeons,critical care nurses ,respiratory therapist and physiotherapist. All our intensive care unit ,high dependency unit and post operative recovery room are well equipped and closely supervised with stringent infection and isolation protocol. Patients from medical ,obstretics ,neurology,neurosurgery are referred to the unit for intensive care.

15 bedded MICU with separate HDU  and step down ICU.MICU is for the care of  the patients with medical condition requiring frequent observation,special monitoring and medical treatment. Consists of advanced invasive and non invasive monitoring,

SURGICAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

It is for management of postoperative patients who has undergone surgery,high risk delivery etc. who requires continuous monitoring or life support.

The department has access to advanced imaging and diagnostic services,24 hour pharmacy, ventilators ,dialysis machines, central monitoring system, comprehensive laboratory services to provide effective critical care that need the highest medical protocols.
